The Origin

The Privacy Gap

In 2022, while working with sensitive legal contracts, I faced a frustrating choice. I needed to compare two document versions quickly to catch subtle changes, but I simply couldn't risk uploading client data to a random cloud server.

I realized the existing market had a dangerous gap: Professional comparison software was expensive and bloated, while free online tools were potential privacy nightmares that processed files on their backend. For professionals—lawyers, developers, writers—privacy isn't optional.

That's why I built Compare2Word. It is the local-first diff checker I always wanted: it runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your data never leaves your device, ensuring that your sensitive documents remain truly private.
